SQUAD MEETING MINUTES

June 10, 1997


SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT: Updated staff regarding the Confederate flag issue. Announced Prince William County Supervisor's will tour the park on June 30. Reviewed plans for the Visitor Center bookstore. Announced Terry Caristrom as the new Regional Director.

STAFF REPORTS:

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: No report.

CHIEF, INTERPRETATION: Distributed a schedule of Greater Manassas Historic Trolley Tour. Stated that he would like to meet with Scott, City Museum Director in September to coordinate programs for next year.

CHIEF, MAINTENANCE: Working on a chemical inventory. The basement painting will start tomorrow. Maintenance is in the process of demolishing Qtrs 3.

CHIEF, NATURAL RESOURCES: Will meet with Barry Harris on June 17 @ 1:00 pm to assess the dams in the park. The GPS unit is up and running.

CHIEF, CULTURAL RESOURCES: The 106 Compliance package for Stone Bridge and VC was submitted to SHPO last week.

CHIEF, VISITOR PROTECTION: The LE staff participated in the Nokesville parade on June 7.

MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT: Replacement of the entrance signs are expected to be completed this FY. The safety meeting has been scheduled for June 18. Will meet with Dave Hammers tomorrow to discuss road projects. On June 25, Karen and Frank will be going to the Dept. of Agriculture for another screening.

COMMUNITY PLANNER: Received 25 copies of the signs book.
